DMF snapshot

The DMF enabled the students to learn about filmmaking. They were assigned roles and learnt directing, producing, performing and editing skills.

Professional filmmakers assisted by promoting the learning of digital literacy and filmmaking skills of scriptwriting and storyboarding.

The films ‘The Making of Rap’ and ‘Table Talk’ made the festival a dynamic experience by celebrating the culture of Palm Island on the streets of Melbourne.

The films were made available for downloading and sharing from the iHubs via BlueZone® Bluetooth® technology.

Kamilya digital mini-films

Throughout the year the students participated in a series of discussions, interviews and conference presentations concerned with mobile learning.

Ten of the top films entered into the Kamilya DMF were selected for display on the iHubs. Entries were received from Palm Island, Tasmania and Victoria.

Each film had to be:

• shot on a mobile device
• no more than one minute in length.

The winning entry was ‘Two Doors’: a love story set to music.
